CLEAR ANSWERS. LESS BACK-AND-FORTH.
A few things
organizers ask.
What works now, what we’re building next, and how it fits your club.
Do players need to sign up?
No player account or app download is part of the experience. Players simply open the league link and choose their name. Organizers sign in to manage private league settings.
Can I send an untidy spreadsheet or Google Doc?
That is the intended managed workflow. Start by preparing a league brief with your roster, rules and existing results. Automated file intake and document-link ingestion are not connected yet.
Can we text scores or use WhatsApp or GroupMe?
Those intake channels are on the roadmap. The animated inbox, text number and bot are examples, not active submission destinations. Scores remain official only after the commissioner approves them.
How are Elo ratings calculated?
WPRC compares average pair ratings using the Elo expectation model. Straight-set matches use K = 48; split-set matches use K = 36. Each partner gets the same rounded change. The ratings page includes an interactive example.
Is Game Dominance just another win percentage?
It is games won divided by games lost, with at least four regulation sets to qualify. It recognizes margins within sets, while a sets record measures set outcomes. Super-tiebreak points are excluded.
Can our club name its leagues and choose its URLs?
Hub and competition settings support separate names and slugs. The intended address is a club subdomain plus competition path, such as wprc.elocup.com/team-cup. Custom-domain routing and HTTPS need configuration before those addresses work.
Are club admin and league admin different?
Yes. Hub admins manage the club and its competitions; competition admins manage their assigned league. Links connect these levels while permissions keep each competition’s data scoped. Players do not need those admin accounts.
Will this change the live WPRC site?
No. EloCup has a separate project and database. The live WPRC season remains on wprcdaviscup.com. Any future cutover needs a fresh backup, restore rehearsal, data reconciliation and verified engine parity.
Can we use it for another sport or format?
The platform structure supports multiple hubs and competitions. Generalizing the WPRC engine for other formats is a development stage, not a claim that every sport’s rules are ready today.
What does it cost?
Commercial plans are not finalized. EloCup is a private pilot, and this site does not take payments or promise a price.
Are the messages and player names real testimonials?
No. Demo names are tennis aliases and group-chat messages are illustrative. The live WPRC site is the real product reference; no customer quotes or usage claims have been invented.
Bring us your league, as it is.
You don’t need a perfect file or a finished rules document to start planning.
